The Rappahannock Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Northumberland on the road and fell 73-39. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Rappahannock of the 49-20 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Northumberland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyreek Lundy, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Lundy is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was MJ Laws, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Rappahannock has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Northumberland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.
Rappahannock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northumberland also has no future games currently scheduled.
