It was a good run, but Hallsville unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Lufkin Panthers, falling 69-43. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Panthers are ranked 34th).

Hallsville's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-6. As for Lufkin, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Hallsville Bobcats challenge the Whitehouse Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lufkin, they will be home for the holidays to greet Texas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
