The Gulf Buccaneers will square off against the Hudson Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gulf hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.
Gulf is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Central get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Jeovanna Carter, who gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks to keep Central off the board. Carter has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Gulf saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lillian Patrias, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Patrias has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Hudson made sure to put some runs up on the board against Anclote on Tuesday. The Cobras were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Sharks. That 17 run margin sets a new team best for the Cobras this season.
Ashley Anderson made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Anderson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Hudson got a big performance out of Bella Veraldi, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Alivia Evans was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Hudson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Hudson's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Gulf, their record now sits at 11-12.
Hudson's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Gulf has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 13.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Hudson, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 strikeouts. Will Gulf keep running through batters, or will the Cobras buck the trend?
Gulf came up short against Hudson in their previous meeting on April 10th, falling 5-1. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
