The King's Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Cross Roads Bobcats at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully King's Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for King's Academy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-50 loss to Carlisle.
Despite their defeat, King's Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Everett Hollis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jordan Tucker, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Cross Roads' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Mildred by a score of 56-53. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cross Roads in their matchups with Mildred: they've now lost four in a row.
King's Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Cross Roads, the last time they won on the road was back last Friday. Having now lost four straight away matchups, they've bumped their record down to 2-6.
King's Academy couldn't quite finish off Cross Roads when the teams last played back in December of 2022 and fell 58-55. Can King's Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
