The Morrison Wildcats lost against the Woodland Cougars back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Morrison was dealt a 44-12 defeat at the hands of Woodland.
Woodland was led to victory by Trey Bennett and Jackson Rhodes. Bennett threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, while Rhodes gained 82 total yards and three touchdowns. Chase Bowman did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Morrison's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.7 points per game. As for Woodland, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Morrison will be playing in front of their home fans against Chouteau-Mazie at 7:17 a.m. on Friday. As for Woodland, they will head out on the road to face off against Hominy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Hominy is ranked 52nd, while Woodland is ranked 58th).
