The Monadnock Huskies posted their closest victory yet this season on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-51 win over Brattleboro.
Despite the loss, Brattleboro still got an impressive performance from Keagan Systo, who scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Systo has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Johnathon Haskins, who scored nine points.
Monadnock's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Brattleboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Monadnock will square off against Fall Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Hampshire (Fall Mountain is ranked 60th, while Monadnock is ranked 39th). As for Brattleboro, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Windsor at 7:00 p.m. Windsor is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
