For the first time this season, Alhambra will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will square off against the Mark Keppel Aztecs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Alhambra's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
Alhambra's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Westridge as they made off with an 18-0 win. The Moors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

Jayla Wagner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
In other pitching news, Glorianne Nieto looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Alhambra got a massive performance out of Amari Antunez, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Antunez has posted since back in April of 2025. Annika Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Alhambra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Mark Keppel, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They came out on top against Mountain View by a score of 18-13 on Friday. The Aztecs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Destiny Valenzuela was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Janelle Fernandez, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
The win got Alhambra back to even at 5-5. As for Mark Keppel, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Mark Keppel's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Alhambra has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Mark Keppel, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Alhambra's sizable advantage in that area, the Aztecs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Alhambra might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Mark Keppel in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Moors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
