Germantown fell to Yazoo County 20-30 the last time the two teams met; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Germantown steamrollered Yazoo County 49-6. The Germantown offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Sophomore Nick Barnes, who rushed for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Germantown received some extra help from senior Charles Jefferson, whose 0 yards punt return for touchdown in the second quarter made for one of the game's most unforgettable moments. The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 1-1.
Next week, Germantown take on Southaven at 7:00 PM. As for Yazoo County, they will face of against Yazoo City.
