Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Valdosta

Valdosta waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 74-54 margin over the Colquitt County Packers. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Packers back in January, they had to take a 45-43 loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valdosta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braylan Deas, who went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points. That's the most points Deas has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brandon Brown, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Valdosta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Valdosta's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Colquitt County, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season.

Valdosta will square off against Tift County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Colquitt County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
