Weston Wagaman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wagaman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
Wagaman wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kam Holtzapple, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Ephrata was able to grind out a solid victory over Cedar Crest on Wednesday, taking the game 7-4. The Mountaineers haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Collin Miller looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those hits were his first of the season.
On the hitting side, JD Muhr and Ty Custer did most of the damage at the plate: Muhr scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Custer scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ethan Hunt, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Ephrata's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Central York, their record is now 4-5.
