The Englewood Stem Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 72-29 loss at the hands of Perspectives-IIT/Joslin. Englewood Stem lost against Perspectives-IIT/Joslin in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-33 score last time.
Leilani Laws continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Perspectives-IIT/Joslin, dropping a double-double on 39 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Laws' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniah Bell, who scored 8 points.
Englewood Stem's loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Perspectives-IIT/Joslin, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Englewood Stem will challenge Juarez at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Juarez comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Perspectives-IIT/Joslin, they will head out on the road to face off against Goode STEM Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
