The Springfield Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Sleepy Eye Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated (Springfield has nine wins , while Sleepy Eye has ten dating back to last season).
While Springfield's victory against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Thunderbirds 7-6.

Adiel Trevino made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Madden Lendt was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Kadyn Anderson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Springfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Sleepy Eye posted their closest victory since May 19, 2025 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wabasso, sneaking past 3-1.
Karter Haala spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Sleepy Eye secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Carson Uecker, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Springfield's record now sits at 9-0. As for Sleepy Eye, their record is now 10-0.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Springfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .520. However, it's not like Sleepy Eye struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Springfield's way against Sleepy Eye when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Springfield made off with a 15-2 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
