Susquehannock has gone a perfect 7-0 against York Suburban recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Warriors will host the Trojans at 4:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Susquehannock has four straight wins, York Suburban has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Susquehannock needed a bit of extra time to put away Eastern York. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-12 victory over the Golden Knights. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this contest were averaging 3.85 runs allowed.

Ella Wetzel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over eight innings while giving up three earned (and nine unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-6 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Callie Shue, who went 1-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sofia Deffendall, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, York Suburban came up short against Kennard-Dale on Wednesday, falling 14-4.
York Suburban saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava King, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Susquehannock's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for York Suburban, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
York Suburban's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Susquehannock has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for York Suburban, though, as they've been averaging only 2.5 strikeouts. Will Susquehannock keep running through batters, or will the Trojans buck the trend?
