Baseball Recap: Waynesburg Central Beats Keystone Oaks for Their Fourth Straight Win

Waynesburg Central barely beat Keystone Oaks the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Golden Eagles on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Derek Turcheck was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jake Stephenson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.

Waynesburg Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Keystone Oaks only posted an OBP of .320.

The victory (which was Waynesburg Central's fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.5 runs. As for Keystone Oaks, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waynesburg Central will square off against Trinity at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Keystone Oaks, they will challenge Geibel Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles are facing the Gators at the right time seeing as the Gators are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
