Having just played yesterday, the Destin Sharks will jump right back in to play the Bronson Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Destin's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 73-50 loss at the hands of Newberry. While losing is never fun, Destin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while Newberry is ranked 71st).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Traiton Mauffray, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Flynt, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Bronson was beaten by Oak Hall 74-40 two weeks ago.
Destin's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Bronson, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
