Even though the Estes Park Bobcats scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, the Platte Valley Broncos still came out on top. Platte Valley took their game against the Bobcats 69-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Platte Valley.
Leading Platte Valley to victory were Braylon Edstrom and Talyn Short. Edstrom scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Short scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Short has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hagen Jackson, who scored nine points.
When it comes to explaining why Estes Park lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jose Gonzales. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with five steals. It was the first time this season that Gonzales scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Cash Faith, who scored ten points.
Platte Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Estes Park, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Platte Valley will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Estes Park, they will be playing at home against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frontier Academy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
