The Butte Valley Bulldogs's and Bethel Christian's game on Friday was close at halftime, but the Butte Valley Bulldogs turned on the heat in the second half with 32 points. Butte Valley was the clear victor by a 56-36 margin over Bethel Christian. Winning may never get old, but Butte Valley sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Ethan Burrow continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 7-for-10 from deep and almost dropping a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Cynor, who scored four points along with eight assists and two steals.
Several Bethel Christian players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braden Johnson, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Rad Schenkenberger was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks.
Butte Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Bethel Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Happy Camp the next time they take the court. Butte Valley will head out to face Happy Camp at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while Bethel Christian will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
