Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Emily Justice and Jillian Salts Lead Carroll to Victory

Carroll won the last time they faced Tri-Central and things went their way on Thursday too. The Carroll Cougars came out on top against the Tri-Central Trojans by a score of 48-35. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Carroll was led to victory by Jillian Salts and Emily Justice. Salts dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds, while Justice went 6 of 15 en route to 16 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds Salts has posted since back in November of 2024.

Carroll smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Tri-Central still got an impressive performance from Layla Keith, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Olivia Dempsey, who posted nine points and three steals.

Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Tri-Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Carroll has already played their next game, a 42-40 victory against Caston on the 28th. Tri-Central has also already played their next contest (against Western), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
