Oviedo is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Evans is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lions will host the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Oviedo and University meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Lions blew past the Titans 55-7. With the Lions ahead 42-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Sebastian Galeano had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 154 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Emiliano Galarza, who picked up 44 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Oviedo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Laron Hargrave and Samari Chisolm. Hargrave has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last four times he's played. Oviedo received some extra help from Chisolm, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Evans hadn't done well against Lake Mary recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 40-14 margin over the Rams.
Oviedo better keep an eye on Li'Darious Pryor. He was instrumental in Evans' win, rushing for 271 yards and two scores while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Those 271 rushing yards gave Pryor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Omyry Hickson, who gained 131 total yards and two touchdowns.
Evans was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 353 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.
Oviedo's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Evans, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Oviedo has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 165.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Evans struggles in that department as they've been averaging 201.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Oviedo beat Evans 30-20 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
