Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Briar Woods Falcons walked away with it. They blew past the Bears 48-18 at home. The result was nothing new for Briar Woods, who have now won four games by 23 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Brady Carmical, who rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 194 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Carmical was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Dudley, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown.
Although Riverbend took the loss, they still got scores from Tanner Triplett and Jonas Taylor.
Briar Woods' win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Riverbend, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Briar Woods will head out on the road to face off against Stone Bridge at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Stone Bridge will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Riverbend does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
