While it was all tied up 37-37 at halftime, the Boulder Panthers were not quite the Mountain Range Mustangs's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Boulder fell 80-71 to Mountain Range. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (59), Boulder still had to take the loss.
Boulder's loss came despite strong showings from Kyle Blauch and Cole Morrow. Blauch dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds, while Morrow scored 32 points. Blauch set a new season high mark in steals with two. Another player making a difference was Dale Boyer, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Mataeo Jourdan was on fire for Mountain Range: he scored 30 points along with five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jourdan has scored at least 25% of Mountain Range's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Moses West, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Boulder now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Mountain Range, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5.
Boulder will head out on the road to face off against Fossil Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Fossil Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Boulder in Colorado (Fossil Ridge is ranked 31st, while Boulder is ranked 109th). As for Mountain Range, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brighton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Brighton is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
