Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hillcrest). They enjoyed a cozy 79-64 win over the W.S. Neal Eagles on Thursday. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Eagles are ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hillcrest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was J.T. Barlow, who went 12 for 27 en route to 25 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jontavuis Lett, who posted 14 points along with eight boards and four steals.

The win (which was Hillcrest's third in a row) raised their record to 14-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for W.S. Neal, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6.

Hillcrest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 83-52 victory against Flomaton on the 14th. W.S. Neal has also already played their next contest, a 65-51 loss against Red Level on the 10th.
