Crean Lutheran took a 30-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cypress. Crean Lutheran has struggled against Cypress recently, as their match on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Crean Lutheran's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Daylin Caamano, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Justin Dominguez who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Cypress' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidan Houston, who rushed for 87 yards, and also threw for 166 yards and a touchdown. Rocco Burdett also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Crean Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Cypress, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Crean Lutheran will look to defend their home field on Friday against Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. Kennedy will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. As for Cypress, they will head out on the road to face off against Tustin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tustin will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
