The Centralia Panthers were the 42-41 winner over the Moberly Spartans when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Centralia took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Moberly on Saturday. Centralia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Moberly found their leader in underclassman Kish Jacobs jr, who scored 22 points. Jacobs jr also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Ty Rucker was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Centralia's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Moberly, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.
Centralia will play host again and welcome California, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Moberly will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Hannibal at 8:30 p.m. on December 12th. Hannibal has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
