The El Toro Chargers pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 79-65 bruising from Dana Hills. El Toro has struggled against the Dolphins recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, El Toro had strong showings from William Siewert, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds, and Christien Jimenez, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Siewert scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan McMichael, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, El Toro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dana Hills only pulled down two offensive rebounds.
It was another big night for Collin Haugh, who scored 34 points for Dana Hills. Haugh has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 19 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Scodeller, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, nine rebounds, and 13 assists.
El Toro has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Dana Hills, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-4.
El Toro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dana Hills also has no future games currently scheduled.
