The Independence 76ers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 21-14 to Silver Creek. Independence lost against Silver Creek in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 20-12 score last time.
Silver Creek can attribute much of their success to Alonzo Hernandez, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Silver Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Silver Creek will head out on the road to face off against South San Francisco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South San Francisco will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
