Trenton is 10-0 against Branford since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Trenton Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Branford Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. Trenton will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Trenton strolled past Chiefland with points to spare, taking the game 40-21. Given Trenton's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Chiefland is ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trenton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brianna Karanja out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Karanja has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Koi Perry, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Branford came up short against Dixie County on Tuesday and fell 37-27. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Branford in their matchups with Dixie County: they've now lost six in a row.
Trenton's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Branford, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Trenton against Branford when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 59-15 win. With Trenton ahead 41-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.
