In what's become a running theme this season, the North Valleys Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Truckee 64-6 at home. Winning may never get old, but North Valleys sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
North Valleys' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Annika Hester led the charge by scoring 22 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hester has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ivy Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
North Valleys is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Truckee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
North Valleys will head out on the road to face off against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hug will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Panthers are ranked 18th). As for Truckee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully South Tahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
