The Hoover Huskies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Nicholas County at home to the tune of 82-55. Considering Hoover has won three matches by more than 25 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Hoover was led to victory by Donovan Brown and Dane Hatfield. Brown scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Hatfield scored 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Hatfield's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Miller, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Miner, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ethan Collins, who scored 11 points.
Hoover's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Nicholas County, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoover will take on Nitro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Nitro's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Nicholas County, they will be playing at home against Braxton County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Braxton County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
