After flying high against the MAST Community Charter Panthers on Friday, the Delaware County Christian Knights came back down to earth. Delaware County Christian fell 74-65 to the Churchmen on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Delaware County Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Churchmen are ranked 32nd).
Delaware County Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Beau Lyren, who scored 19 points, and Khamai Orange who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Bradford Berwick, who scored ten points.
Delaware County Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Delaware County Christian's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Episcopal Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delaware County Christian and the Drakes will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Jenkintown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Episcopal Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
