After two weeks on the road, Wolsey-Wessington is heading back home. On Friday they take on Gregory at 7:00 PM. Gregory will need to watch out since Wolsey-Wessington have now posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
Wolsey-Wessington were the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Parkston 58-14. No one put up better numbers for Wolsey-Wessington than senior Devante Luellman, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 162 yards and 3 touchdowns. This marked the 7th matchup in which Luellman has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, after a disappointing 6 points in their last contest, Gregory made sure to put some points up on the board against Platte/Geddes. Everything came up roses for Gregory against Platte/Geddes as the team secured a 46-6 win. Followers of Gregory probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
The last time the two teams met, Wolsey-Wessington lost to Gregory by a decisive 8-24 margin. Whatever the outcome in this rematch, the game is bound to be a fierce one since these are two of the top teams in the state.
