Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Geneva Knights walked away with it. They never let the Hawks onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Friday. The win was familiar territory for Geneva who now have seven in a row.
Their one-goal win came courtesy of
Emma Keys, who's now up to 21 this season.
Geneva is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Santa Fe Catholic, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4-4.
Geneva will head out on the road to square off against Lakeland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakeland Christian is on a five-game streak of home wins, Geneva a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch. Santa Fe Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
