On Saturday, South Pike was able to grind out a solid victory over Clinton Christian Academy, taking the game 44-32. Given South Pike's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Clinton Christian Academy is ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Alaysha Williams, who scored seven points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Amira Jackson, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for South Pike and bumps their season record up to 8-3. As for Clinton Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Pike will be home for the holidays to greet Brookhaven at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brookhaven is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Clinton Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Vicksburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
