This season hasn't been kind to the Tomahawk Hatchets, who are still winless after their tenth game. They were beaten by Mosinee 94-26 on Friday. Tomahawk was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 67-15.
Mosinee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keagen Jirschele led the charge by scoring 20 points along with seven assists and six steals. The matchup was Jirschele's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Thomer, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Tomahawk's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-9-1. As for Mosinee, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Tomahawk has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Medford at 7:15 p.m. on January 9th. Mosinee's road trip will continue as they head out to face Rhinelander at 7:15 p.m. on January 9th. Rhinelander will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Mosinee is ranked 51st).
