Westminster Catawba Christian fell 75-64 to Gaston Christian on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Westminster Catawba Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being M.J. Littlejohn, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Littlejohn scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kenyon Addie, who scored 19 points.
It was another big night for Cameron Newman, who scored 28 points along with five assists for Gaston Christian. The team also got some help courtesy of Makoi Mabor Marier, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Westminster Catawba Christian's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Gaston Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-13 record this season.
Westminster Catawba Christian will head out on the road to face off against Northside Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gaston Christian, they will be playing at home against Victory Christian Center at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
