If The Ledford Panthers were feeling good off their 35-7 takedown of the North Davidson Black Knights last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ledford was beaten by East Lincoln 49-13 on Friday. Ledford lost against East Lincoln in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 28-7 score last time.
Despite the loss, Ledford still got an impressive performance from Alex Sanford, who rushed for 212 yards and a touchdown. Sanford is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last ten games he's played.
East Lincoln found their leader in underclassman Grant Lawless, who threw for 361 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Shropshire, who picked up 168 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Ledford's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for East Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Ledford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. East Lincoln will head out on the road to face off against West Henderson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Henderson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
