Emerald is 7-2 against McCormick since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Emerald Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the McCormick Chiefs at 8:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two weeks ago, Emerald didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Crescent, but they still walked away with a 49-45 victory.
Caleb Benson was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, McCormick didn't have too much trouble with Saluda at home on Friday as they won 60-42. The win made it back-to-back wins for McCormick.
McCormick relied on the efforts of Terrence Cartledge, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Darius Houston, who scored 21 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Bell, who scored 4 points along with 3 steals.
The losses dropped Emerald to 1-1 and Crescent to 0-2.
Everything went Emerald's way against McCormick in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as Emerald made off with a 65-41 win. Does Emerald have another victory up their sleeve, or will McCormick turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
