The Social Circle Redskins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Monroe Area 50-45. While losing is never fun, Social Circle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Monroe Area is ranked 23rd).
Several Redskins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jameccus Hardge, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. Hardge scored a full 26.7% of Social Circle's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Justin Russell was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Social Circle's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Monroe Area, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Social Circle will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Lamar County at 2:30 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Monroe Area, they will take on Loganville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Loganville and Monroe Area are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
