Basketball Recap: Fitch Piles Up the Points Against East Lyme

There's no place like home for Fitch, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the East Lyme Vikings 71-43. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Fitch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Si?Kis Reels led the charge by going 7 for 11 en route to 19 points and seven boards. Xavier Goode was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.

Fitch pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.8 points per game. As for East Lyme, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-5 record.

Fitch won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kolbe-Cathedral at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fitch knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Kolbe-Cathedral likes a good challenge. As for East Lyme, they will face off against Norwich Free Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
