The Red Bud Musketeers lost against the Okawville Rockets back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Red Bud's rough 58-32 loss to Okawville might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Red Bud in their matchups with Okawville: they've now lost six in a row.
Several Musketeers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addi Dilley, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds. Lyla Hess was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 3 steals.
It was another big night for Alayna Kraus, who scored 33 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals for Okawville. That makes it six consecutive games in which Kraus has scored at least 25% of Okawville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Wienstroer, who scored 9 points.
Red Bud's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Okawville, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Bud will stay at home for another game and welcome Granite City at 11:00 a.m. on December 2nd. Granite City is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Okawville, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Chester at 7:15 p.m.
