The Kennedy Memorial Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses dating back to last season for Kennedy Memorial and seven for Scotch Plains-Fanwood.
Last Thursday, Kennedy Memorial had to suffer through a rough 42-7 loss at the hands of Voorhees.
Meanwhile, Scotch Plains-Fanwood fell victim to Montgomery's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Cougars on the road and fell 35-0. While losing is never fun, Scotch Plains-Fanwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Montgomery is ranked 44th).
The losses dropped Kennedy Memorial to 0-7 and Scotch Plains-Fanwood to 1-7.
Kennedy Memorial came out on top in a nail-biter against Scotch Plains-Fanwood when the teams last played back in October of 2022, sneaking past 21-19. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Scotch Plains-Fanwood's Khadar Jackson, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 55 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Kennedy Memorial to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
