After having lost a blowout in their previous game against First Flight, the Albemarle School Colts were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They secured a 47-41 W over Southampton. For Albemarle School, this counts as revenge for the 50-21 loss Southampton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2015.
Madelyn Delosreyes was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Delosreyes is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Braelyne Brewer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
Albemarle School's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Southampton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Albemarle School will face off against First Flight at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. First Flight knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Albemarle School likes a good challenge. Southampton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Amelia County at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th.
