In what's become a running theme this season, the Alma Cardinals gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Hitchcock County 59-32 on the road. The victory was nothing new for Alma as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
Alma's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tierston Moore led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Siebels, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katie Jarecke, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Asia Homma, who scored three points along with two steals.
Alma pushed their record up to 13-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Hitchcock County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
Alma and Loomis will face off on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Loomis will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Alma is ranked 42nd). As for Hitchcock County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Paxton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Paxton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
