If the Ash Fork Spartans were feeling good off their 59-39 takedown of the Fredonia Lynx last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ash Fork was beaten by Camp Verde 64-20 on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ash Fork has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Ash Fork struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Camp Verde racked up 21 assists.
Camp Verde's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Mcmahon-fullmer, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Julian Perez, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Ash Fork's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Camp Verde, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Apache Junction the next time they take the court. Ash Fork will head out to face Apache Junction at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, while Camp Verde will head out to face them at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
