It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Stamford Black Knights can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 47-21 walloping at the hands of the Cardinals on Tuesday. Stamford's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Several Black Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camron Jean Pierre, who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenwich to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rocco Grillo, who threw for 348 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Greenwich also got a significant boost from Ian Kim, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 117 yards.
Stamford's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Greenwich, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Stamford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Greenwich will square off against West Haven at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. West Haven is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
