A well-balanced attack led Half Hollow Hills West over Wyandanch in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. The Half Hollow Hills West Colts greeted the New Year with with a 63-44 win over the Wyandanch Warriors. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colts.

Wyandanch lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nevaeh Hewitt, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 boards. Hewitt continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Shayna Severe was another key player, going 5 for 9 on her way to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Half Hollow Hills West's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Wyandanch, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Half Hollow Hills West will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Amityville Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on January 21st. As for Wyandanch, they will venture away from home to challenge Rocky Point at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
