The Northside Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 38-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Iberia. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while New Iberia is ranked 22nd).
Wayne Randall-bashay was the offensive standout of the game as he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Otis Anderson, who scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for New Iberia, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Northside will be playing at home against Breaux Bridge on Wednesday. As for New Iberia, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Charles College Prep at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Charles College Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
