III Section VI recap November 13, 2013
Washington lost to Saguaro 62-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. James Rasmussen threw for 208 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 15 yards in the defeat.
Tempe led III Section VI in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Tempe.
Jake Glatting threw for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 18-28 with 0 interceptions.
Antwain Marlowe was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 75 yards on 26 carries as Washington fell to Desert Edge. Teammate Rasmussen added to the ground attack by rushing for 15 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Emanuel Gant of the Buffaloes is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,943. He has also thrown 37 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Turner. The Thunderbird star has 65 catches for 1,233 yards.
In 151 carries Lakel Davis has put up 994 yards this year.
Accruing a total of 20 touchdowns this year, Rasmussen has thrown for 1,808 yards with 9 interceptions.
The longest pass in the league this week came courtesy of the Chiefs' Glatting. Thunderbird fell to the Scorpions when he connected with Turner on a 71-yard pass.
