After flying high against the North Sanpete Hawks last Thursday, the Juab Wasps came back down to earth. Juab fell 41-34 to the Falcons on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Juab has scored all season.
Juab lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lucy Richards, who scored ten points along with two blocks. Addison Hyatt was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Canyon View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bethanee Vargas led the charge by scoring seven points along with four steals. Vargas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maylee Spencer, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Juab's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Canyon View, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juab will take on the Rabbits at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Delta has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Canyon View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Emery focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
