The Lane Tech Champions have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Niles West Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Lane Tech struggled with offensive rebounds on Monday (Hyde Park had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lane Tech fell 64-51 to Hyde Park. Lane Tech was down 54-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
The losing side was boosted by Grace Bush, who scored 12 points. Emily Rue was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Niles West suffered a tough 64-38 defeat at the hands of Glenbrook North on Tuesday. Niles West has not had much luck with Glenbrook North recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Lane Tech's loss dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Niles West, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-11.
Lane Tech strolled past Niles West when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 43-27. Will Lane Tech repeat their success, or does Niles West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
